This page contains a demonstration applet that checks the spelling of text entered into a TextArea. To use the applet:

Enter some text into the text area

Click on the Check Spelling (String) button to check the contents of the text box as a String. The applet will extract the text from the text box into a String and check the String's contents.

Click on the Check Spelling (TextArea) button to check the contents of the text box directly.

If you don't see a form, check the following:

Java is enabled in your browser.

Your browser supports Java 1.1 and later:

Netscape 4.04 and earlier on the Windows platform does not support Java 1.1. A patch is available from Netscape for 4.03 and 4.04 to enable support for Java 1.1.
- Netscape 4 and earlier on the Macintosh and UNIX platforms do not support Java 1.1.
